The Quilt Study Group is designed to fulfil the aims of Victorian Quilters Inc to promote the appreciation, knowledge and understanding of the heritage of quilt making.

The specific aims of the group are:

  • To foster an interest in both historical and contemporary aspects of Australian patchwork and quilting through study and research.
  • To provide a forum for the exchange of information and ideas and the development of research skills through seminars and study days.
  • To foster links with quilt study groups and related organisations in Australia and overseas.

The group aims to bring together textile and quilt scholars, academics and anyone with an interest in both the history and recent developments of quilting in Australia.

Joining QSGV will provide you not only with access to a network of members who are knowledgeable about Australian quilts and textiles but will also help, through exchange of information, to establish an accurate database of information about quilts, making methods, quilters, tools and quilt trends. The study is not limited to historic subjects and will include current makers, tools and trends.

Annual membership fee: $35 VQ members, $50 non-members.
