Thank you to our sponsors Brother and Hillside Quilting, Margaret Parkinnson for judging and Sue de Vanny for coordinating this exhibition.

It was disappointing that we were not able to hold an opening and announce the winners this this morning, but I am hoping to be able to visit Kyabram sometime in November after the travel restrictions have been eased.

Quilt Showcase 2021

Entries to Quilt Showcase 2021 have now closed and I thank all the members who have entered quilts.  Quilt Showcase 2021 will be a virtual quilt show and whilst some of the details still need to be decided, I can provide the following information.

The members who have entered quilts will receive advice, via email, that their entry has been accepted in the near future.  At this stage we anticipate that the quilts will be collected in early November and will be judged in mid November.  This is all dependent on current restrictions being eased by the Victorian Government.  After judging the quilts will be returned to the entrants.

It is planned that the virtual Quilt Showcase 2021 and the Awards presentation will be made in early December 2021.  The format of this announcement is still being finalised and details of this will be emailed to all members in late November.

We thank all members and our sponsors for being supportive of Victorian Quilters Inc. during these challenging times. It will be a new experience for our members to able to view the entries on the website.  I know it will not be the same as viewing a quilt on display, but it is the best that we can do at the moment.

As sponsors are being confirmed their details are being added to our website. click here to view the sponsors.  If you click on the logo for each sponsor this will connect you directly to the sponsor’s website.  Many of the sponsors have been supporting Victorian Quilters Inc. for a number of years and we ask that you support these businesses where possible.

COVID-19 Policy

I have received requests about Victorian Quilters Inc. COVID policy.  The short answer is – whatever the government direction is on a particular day.  I have updated the current policy and it is available here to assist our members.  Whilst Victorian Quilters Inc. would prefer attendees at events to be fully vaccinated I am not sure that we can request proof of this.  However, the venue where a meeting/ gathering / event is being held may be able to request this via the QR code registration.

Take care and I look forward to being able to meet in person in the not too distant future.

Kind regards

Marie Lee
